It is one of EMA-DOM’s explicit goals to offer opportunities to students from different generations to connect and get to know each other. Therefore, a few weeks ago, members of the 9th and 10th generation met online. The idea was not only to connect but also to transfer knowledge and exchange experiences. After a round of presenting ourselves by showing where we come from – geographically and academically – things got more serious and we finally learned who among us can still order beer in Polish, who speaks more than three languages and who is a coffee addict. Jokes aside, the second part consisted of an exchange in small groups regarding our most funny moments in the Master – so far – but also our motivations to choose this program and our plans afterwards. Eventually, we gathered again in the whole group to discuss further questions. The students from the 10th generation could share their experiences regarding the upcoming semesters, the Master thesis and answer questions on what to do better, what to avoid and general good-to-knows.
It was a pleasant meeting with a productive outcome, but also personal exchanges that brought our generations closer together.
We look forward to meeting in person soon.
