This year the Warsaw Weekend brought together the three alumni organisers Christoph, Nolwenn and Maria with the 11th generation that started their Europa Master studies in October.
The weekend started on Friday with a super informative visit to the FRONTEX EU-Agency in Warsaw. There, we met the spokesperson of the agency who explained how the FRONTEX regulations work, what accountability tasks they have and how they had internal reforms during the past 5 to 10 years. For example, one of the main tasks were the establishment of a complaint's mechanism, the implementation of a transparency register, extensive data protection and within the process of a transparency register, the public access to documents.

On the next day, A guided visit to the Palace of Culture and Science brought us a bit closer to the communist history of Poland. While the walking tour through the former Jewish ghetto helped us understand the historical period of World War II when Warsaw was under German occupation. During our long day walk we could experience beautiful snow weather in the capital city of Poland.

On Sunday we concluded our weekend with a cozy breakfast at an American Diner in a food market hall and a visit at the Polin Museum about Polish national history. Next to the program the group enjoyed good food, drinks and conversations!
In this regard, we want to thank our funding partner DFH/l'UFA (Deutsch-Französische Hochschule/Université franco-allemande) that has set the financial scope in order to realise this wonderful gathering in Warsaw!
EMA-DOM is already looking forward to the Warsaw Weekend in 2024, together with the 12th generation.
