Warsaw Study Trip 2019

What a weekend! The 7th generation visited Warsaw, the capital city of Poland!

Despite the fact that the trip from Opole started at very early morning, the students were excited about scheduled meetings. We started our weekend by visiting Frontex, where students had the opportunity to discover what important role this EU agency plays in order to protect the EU borders and during the migration crisis. The following stop was the French embassy where German and French representatives were waiting for the students. The nice discussion about Weimar triangle, the bilateral relations with Poland and EU enlargement lasted even longer then it was planned. The representatives took their time to answer all students’ questions.

Saturday began with an interesting visit to the Palace of Culture and Science titled as the most hated building in Poland which is a legacy of communism in this country. Luckily for us, the weather was perfect, so the students spent their afternoon outside attending the guided city tour about Warsaw at war.

The students the last day began spending in the Łazienki park enjoying the shining sun and great view. After that, they went to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews which in 2016 won the title of the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA 2016).

Despite the legacy of the past, Warsaw has become a modern city and we are more than happy every year to invite the students and alumni of Europa Master to gather in this beautiful European capital city. Warsaw offers great leisure possibilities as well, the students enjoyed Polish piwo in Pawilony and Hala Koszyki, one of the most popular places to spend the evenings in this city.
