For the 3rd time, EMA-DOM organised a Weimar Weekend gathering Europa Master's students and alumni between the 28th and 30th of June. This time 14 students and alumni met in Brussels, the capital of Europe, for a 3 days programme around career opportunities and European culture!
The 3rd Weimar Weekend in Brussels was centered around the different career opportunities available for Europa Master's alumni. The weekend started already on the Friday for the students with visits of work places where some students finishing the Master's were doing their internship. After the visit to the Council of the European Union, they went to the lobby organization “SpiritsEUROPE”, where they could get a direct insight in the work atmosphere of such a lobby and exchange with the General Director of the organisation. The students were joined by more alumni from Saturday on for an interactive European Careers tour of Brussels. This tour was a unique opportunity for both students and alumni to get to know each other better, but mostly to discover the large variety of career paths one can take after finishing Europa Master and get useful tips on how to get a job/internship in Brussels.
If the programme also offered the participants the chance to deepen their knowledge of European history and to nourish their thoughts about the role of history and museums as political instruments by visiting the House of European History or the city of Brussels, they could enjoy all together the hot weather with a cold beer and some traditional French fries too!
Many thanks to all participants for making this Weimar Weekend an amazing time, for their inputs and suggestions to EMA-DOM, and for their good mood under the heat of Brussels! Looking forward to seeing you next year!
