Hello!
The 11th generation has been now living in Opole for 2 months and we are more than happy to share our experiences with you.
In the last days of September, we were greeted by Professors Kulska, Czepil and Choroś. They organized a three-day cultural program with visits to the city and invited us to taste the typical Polish cuisine: pierogi, pancakes and bigos. On the first nights, we also discovered Opole’s nightlife: Highlander, Mango club and the Beer Festival in the main square.
The opening weeks were a bit complicated because of some bureaucratic and organizational issues. Moreover, most of us live in Kmicic dormitory and getting used to sharing room and facilities with many people was not easy at first. However, the 10th generation provided helpful advices during a video call in October and we had the pleasure to meet Anika, David and Mathilde from the 9th generation after their master’s thesis defence.
Slowly we learnt how to adapt and now we are making the most of this semester.
Taking advantage of the low cost of trains, we traveled around Poland: Wroclaw, Czestochowa, Krakow, Katowice, Gdansk, Poznan, Torun and last but not least Warsaw where we spent a wonderful weekend with Christoph, Maria and Nolwenn from the EMADOM board.
We look forward to find out what lies ahead for the months to come!
All the best from Opole,
Francesca
